Since its introduction in 1986, the iconic American Silver Eagles have been bought by wise collectors and investors. The Silver Eagle has become the most popular bullion coin in the world because of its beauty, quality, and the assurance of content by the U.S. government.
The classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman featured on the coin’s obverse has long been a collector's favorite. After 35 years, this famous design was refreshed in 2021. Thanks to technological advancements in the design and minting process, it now encompasses some of Weinman’s original details that were not previously possible.
The new reverse design (since 2021) features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to a nest.
To give the new coins an added level of security, they have also been updated with enhanced security features, including a reeded edge variation.
These coins are shipped in a sealed mint box, also known as a "monster boxes". Each green plastic box holds 500 coins which are packaged in 20-coin plastic tubes. On the lid of each box are two raised Department of the Treasury seals and the phrase "United States Mint" in raised lettering. Before shipping from the U.S. Mint, the boxes are sealed with straps and labeled with the year of issue and a serial number.
