Quick Overview

For those who like to buy domestic, very little is more American than American Gold Eagle gold coins. Authorized by Congress in 1985 and minted since 1986, the gold contained in American Gold Eagle gold coins is mined exclusively from U.S. soil.

For the first time in more than three decades, this American Eagle One Ounce Gold Proof Coin features a new reverse design, crafted in the highest degree of detail, with a stunning portrayal of an eagle.

The obverse of the American Gold Eagle gold coins features the other iconic symbol of the United States of America, Lady Liberty.

In 2021, legacy details have been restored for the obverse design to include modifications to the Capitol Building, stars, torch, sun rays, and other design elements based on the original bronze cast.

Among the new features is an anti-counterfeit reeded edge variation.
